We’ve just had a fresh batch of Road Holland den Haag jersey’s in.
This year the guys from Florida, have gone for black, white and orange primary colours. The den Haag is one of our best selling jerseys, so if you after one grab it quick.

Road Holland are known for their merino blend jerseys. However the Road Holland also offer lightweight summer jersey – the Hilversum.
First and foremost, Road Holland switched to an all-polyester fabric. Before you cry “Bloody Hell!,” know that this is not your average poly. It’s specifically designed for the warmest days of riding and features a mesh design that makes you feel like you are wearing nothing at all. The fabric is spun to our Road Holland’s specifications in the US with just enough wicking properties to leave a scant bit of moisture ON your skin to keep you cool – think of it as built-in air conditioning for your jersey. To increase the level of temperature control, the Hilversum has a full length zip, so you can regulate the amount of fresh air reaching your body. The fabric is anti-microbial so even if you haven’t given your jersey a rinse in a few days, no one will know you’re approaching them in the paceline.
We’ve been testing a Hilversum jersey for about a month and love the detailing that has gone into this jersey. The new 2014 colours range is on the way, but we were that impressed with the product that we’ve bought in a limited range of the 2013 colours as we thought they were worth sharing with you.
Like all Road Holland gear it has subtle classic styling and sensible sizing and being based in Florida, Road Holland know a thing or two about warm weather riding. So if you are after a lightweight jersey for your summer bike rides – the Hilversum is definitely worth a look.
We’ve just had a fresh delivery of replica cycling caps in from Italy.
Made by the same folks who make them for many of the pro cycling teams, these caps are one of our best sellers.
They are great for keeping the sun off your head and fit under a bike helmet (should you choose to wear one).
We’ve just had a fresh delivery of our best selling Yorkshire jerseys, Made in Belgium by Bioracer exclusively for Velotastic, these jerseys have become one of our best sellers since their launch on Yorkshire day last year.
With le Tour making a pilgrimage to God’s own county in a couple of months, these jerseys will be flying off our shelf faster than the peloton climbing le Cote de Blubberhouses. Get yours whilst we have them in stock.

If you are of a certain age one of your first bikes may have been a Raleigh. We have fond memories of ours and they are a part of the UK’s cycling heritage.
We’ve got a couple of Raleigh Mugs in stock – one enamel and one stoneware and a Raleigh journal too.
All make excellent gifts or something to remind you of your youth.
For the latest edition of the Cinelli Rider Collection series have teamed up with Olympic Silver Medalist and US Bicycle Hall of Famer Nelson Vails to produce a limited edition cycling cap.
The ‘Stars and Stripes’ cap design was inspired by the skinsuit worn by Vails in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics when he won silver medal in Track Cycling 1000m Match Sprints.
A portion of proceeds will go to production of the forthcoming documentary film ‘Cheetah – the Nelson Vails Story’ which chronicles Vails’ improbable ascension from New York City bike messenger, to the podium of the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Like many of the new products we sell we’ve been out testing these in the Peak District for a few hundred kilometres just to make sure that they live up to the hype. We can say that these do. As with all Road Holland products, the Bolsward short’s are understated, yet do what they are designed to do extremely well.
Everyone wants to know about the pad when it comes to shorts and Road Holland are using the best available. Designed for extreme long distance riding, the pad comes from Italy and features seamless technology for incredible comfort. Special yarns and a perforated design eliminate friction, increase air circulation, and give the pad a permanent anti-bacterial effect.
12 panel construction means the shorts give where they need to and not where they don’t. A super strong 80% polyester / 20% spandex blend provides maximum compression to keep muscles at their best. At the end of each leg is a gripper that is just taut enough to provide support but not so much that it will give you the dreaded sausage look. Bib straps feature an ultra light mesh to be as minimalistic feeling as possible.
The design is reminiscent of a classic European racing kit – a small logo and simple stripe. The deep black color all the way around ensures you’ve got the perfect accompaniment to any colour jersey you wish to wear.
The Bolsward bib is available in sizes XS to XXXL. Like all Road Holland products Bolsward bib shorts are made in the good old US of A.

We’ll be there on the Friday and Saturday. (On the Sunday we’ll be off on one of our vintage bikes riding the long route).
The event is based around Bakewell showground – only a dozen miles from Velotastic’s HQ so it would be plain rude not to attend.

If you are thinking of coming up and having a go at the Eroica, why not stay a few extra days and explore some more of the Peak District National Park. You could even have a crack at our MiniMe Challenge that starts and finishes in Bakewell too.

The Montfoort is one of Road Hollands original designs and features a 1/4 zip collar. The cut was designed by and made exclusively for women. The unique princess seams form side panels which make for a slightly narrow silhouette that is comfortable and flattering on and off the bike. The cap sleeve gives just enough room for tucking in a pair of arm warmers during colder days but will not bunch up and make you look like you’re wearing a man’s t-shirt.
The fabric is a super-soft and highly breathable 61% polyester / 39% Merino wool blend. The inclusion of fine Merino does wonders for the fabric. Wool’s exceptional wicking properties keep you dryer and cooler even in the most demanding of conditions. There are multiple back pockets including one especially designed for money and other personal essentials.

Robert Louis Stevenson — ‘We are all travellers in the wilderness of this world, and the best we can find in our travels is an honest friend.’
The grand tours are one of the cycling calenders highlights. Three weeks of relentless attrition, stunning scenery and a plot that would put most soap operas to shame it is easy to see why they are popular with cycling fans the world over.
We like them that much we’ve included them in our branding. If you look at our logo you’ll see three stripes – no guessing what the colours signify.
Regular visitors to our site will know we stock and sell our own brand of mugs which has been hugely successful with sales to former tour riders, art galleries and locations as diverse as Australia and Japan.
We’ve been getting our creative juices flowing again and have come up with our own Grand Tourist Supplies mug.
We hope you like it.

We’re delighted (over the moon as they say in these parts) to become a dealer for Rikulau frames.
Taiwan is known for producing quality bicycles that are distributed throughout the world. It is the major bicycle-manufacturing base in the world. Rikulau International teams up with several top level bicycle frame builders, component producers and academic institutions in Taiwan to produce the highest quality customized bicycles.
Rikulau is named after the legendary sacred animal of the Rukai people – a Taiwanese aboriginal tribe. It is known in English as the clouded leopard and is the largest feline in Taiwan.
Rikulau International was the first company in Taiwan to customized bicycles to the customers. It is established in March 2006 by several friends that share the same joy of cycling. Among them are bicycle mechanical engineer, bicycle exporter, university professor, accountant, environmental engineer, and artist. They differ in background, but have the common dream of bringing the spirit of the legendary animal into the bicycles that run through the roads and mountains with agility, speed and style.

We’ve been testing a 931 frame on the gravel/potholed/dirty roads of the Peak District and it’s been a revelation. The handling is neutral and the frame feels a little stiffer than a normal steel frame but still has the ability to dampen some of the road noise.
We’ve also built up a 853 frame which hopefully we’re going to use as a demo bike. It’s built with a Campagnolo Veloce groupset and a Deda finishing kit and Selle saddle – we can build YOU a similar bike for around £1299. Contact us for details.
